How to win at online craps
Craps is a popular dice game both in brick and mortar casinos and online. The game dates back to the 18th Century developed by French gamblers.
You may have enjoyed craps online at places such as the Paddy Power live casino which offers multiple variations of the game. But do you always win at it? This post will give you five simply, but game-changing tips to make sure you come out on top.
1. When to Pass and When Not To
Put the smallest amount on the "Don't pass" bet and wager the largest amount behind it. The house edge is on the Don't pass bets, which only pay out Evens if you win. Whereas the player has the advantage on the free odds bets - the ones behind the Don't pass line. These pay out at the actual maths odds, meaning the house doesn't have any advantage.
2. Place the Six or Eight
The house edge is on the pass line and the come line, but the player has the advantage when it comes to the odds portion of the bets. When you're playing in multiples of £6.00, place the six or eight place-to-win bet. This is because the casino only has a 1.52% edge, so you'd be paid out £7 when the number hits. Easy profit every time!
3. Place the Six or Eight to Lose
Believe it or not, this is almost fail proof. Place a £5.00 bet on the table and bark out "six (or eight) to lose". Even if the seven were to show then you still win £4 as the house edge is only 1.82%. There are 11 numbers that can be rolled with a pair of dice and some numbers come up more frequently than others. Here's how to roll them:
2 (one way) 1&1
3 (two ways) 1&2, 2&1
4 (four ways) 1&3, 2&2, 3&1
5 (four ways) 1&4, 2&3, 3&2, 4&1
6 (five ways) 1&5, 2&4, 3&3, 4&2, 5&1
7 (six ways) 1&6, 2&5, 3&4, 4&3, 5&2, 6&1
8 (five ways) 2&6, 3&5, 4&4, 5&3, 6&2
9 (four ways) 3&6, 4&5, 5&4, 6&3
10 (three ways) 4&6, 5&5, 6&4
11 (two ways) 5&6, 6&5
12 (one way) 6&6
4. Lay Against the Four or Ten
Similar to place the 6 or 8 to lose tip, but with higher payouts. There are six ways to roll a 7 and only three ways to roll a 4 or a 10. So take the more optimistic bet by placing £20 on the table and barking out "Lay against the four (or ten)". If you win, you get £40 back!
5. Place the Five or Nine to Lose
Put down £8.00 on the table and bet that the Five or Nine will lose. Remember, you have to bet in increments of £2 as the odds are 3:2. The house edge on this type of bet is low at 2.5% so when the seven shows as it often does, you'll win £5.
By reducing the house edge you increase your own chances of winning big when the table is busy. These tips work at both online casinos and brick and mortar questions alike.
